I admit that I’m using Twitter search for finding interesting topics and New stuff on regular basis. That Doesn’t mean that I am regular victim of Hashtag spammers and “clever marketers”

Twitter Trends or Popular hashtags are acting like live coverage of what’s going around the Globe. But Spammers are trying to exploit it for there own promotions.

There are different opinion on How to fix this. Twitter Moderation of Trending topics is the most common but I think, It wont work.

Thumbs up or Down system in the search result could be an alternative of Fighting hashtag Spammers. I mean, if a tweet is getting continuous Thumbs down from Tweeples, that tweet should be deleted.

Until that happen, You can use this Firefox plugin for Twitter search which will filter your searches and give you Hashtag Spam free Tweets.
