Google Hacking: Hacker using fake Blogs and Google Trends to hack
The days are almost gone when E-mail with Fake link was delivered to steal data, now hackers are using Google trends and tops headlines to attack users and steal there private information.
According to Webroot, hackers are using blogs to attract visitors and then lure them with fake video link which then ask for codec download which is bundled with spyware and trajons.
Using this kind of approach is nothing new but hackers are manipulating Google ranking system and this has made more people to security threat. Paul Lipman, Webroot’s senior vice president and general manager of Consumer Business said:
Placing malware in video links on fake blogs is not a novel approach, However, the fact that these hackers are now manipulating Google’s methods for relevance to increase the ranking of these sites is new and greatly increases the number of people exposed to this threat
Now its up to Google, that how they make there index more secure and clean by removing spam sites. and users should also take care before clicking or downloading something cause according to hacker regarding security, users are the weakest link.
